hugh jarse:that red card for Dawson was a shocker, debatable pen at best. Most would NOT have given it. Sorry Phil, a weak performance

Simran:he was beyond ****! No red card for joey barton who ends of scoring twice- once for pen that never was. I suggest this guy gets his next game in league 1!
nass:totally wrong in his decision for entire 2nd half
Gooneroobs:I am not deflecting from our woeful defensive performance in the 2nd half but Dowd was an absolute joke-how on earth was the 2nd pen a pen?why wasn't Nolan sent off for putting Chesney's head in a lock and Barton should have been cautioned for going right through Arshavin and for the challenge that Diaby reacted to (probably a straight red actually)
DEWIA:Dowd was a joke today Barton should have walked, please demote Dowd he,s c**p
Gunnersaurus Re:Dowd had a shocker, should've booked Barton for his tackle on Diaby, Nolan should've been booked for having Szczesny in a headlock for crying out loud, and one of the pens was never a penalty. Same old gutierrez, always cheating!!
AT:Meh, whining gooners all - I go back to DeJong - if he's not sent off or cautioned, then Joey's clean as a whistle - 2nd pen soft, but Leon's first disallowed for offside was idiotic - so it balanced out. Stop whining and figure out why your lads can't hold onto a lead.
zaragooner:i was shame to call him a referee, no wise decision, uncalled and injustice for 2nd penalty.
Steve:Refs have become worse over last few years. Time for TV replays. 6 major controversial incidents in the NUFC vs Arsenal game and the ref got one right - the first pen. Too much at stake to continue like this.
pax:Very bad day at the office for Dowd. NUFC fans are the only people who think Barton should have been on the pitch. Justice would have been first yellow for going straight through Arshavin and second yellow for the Diaby tackle. And the only reasonable responses to not booking Nolan for headlocking Szczesny and then booking Szczesny for subjecting himself to said headlock and the second penalty are WHAT THE ******* HELL MAN!? ARE YOU ******* BLIND!?
houseofcold:was doing good
RoboDoc:Most troubling was Arsene's comment about Diaby having a good game before his attack of destructive idiocy. The only good thing about the red card is that Diaby will not be able to play in the next few important games. I have watched this man throw away points for the Gunners for the past 2 years and cannot comprehend why Wenger continues to play him. It is too late to sell him in the Winter Transfer, but perhaps he could be loaned out (preferably to one of our competitors!). I am sorry to be down on an individual like this and appreciate that a team game depends on 11 guys, but this unfortunate lad has been the source of so many lost points for us. Good luck in your future club, "Abou" ... sincerely, really!
Neutral:Both teams played a great game, Arsenal 1st half and Newcastle 2nd half. Down had a good game in my opinion apart from the 2nd pen which was soft. The lines man however denied Leon Best's goal when he was onside so that evened that out. Diaby was rightfully given a straight red for holding Barton by the neck. Barton won the ball but followed through to the player. Diaby knew he wasnt goin to win the ball there for should have stopped running. I see it as a yellow at most for Barton as he clearly won the ball and didnt go in with 2 feet. Now for the goal that was disallowed for Van Perie, this goal was offside so cannot complain there. All the arsenal fans commenting "Barton should have been off" i think is just sour grapes. Well done to Arsenal for getting 4 goals first half, excellent performance, but the biggest well done has to go the the Newcastle players who showed great passion and determination not to be humiliated and bullied.
Dandan:whining gooners
j1206:Had quite a good game. Had the balls to give 2 corrects penalties against arsenal and barton's tackle on diaby wasn't a foul. Only bad point was when he disallowed best's goal when roshitsky clearly played him onside.
Fidel:I'm not here to blame the ref for our capitulation because we have to look at ourselves, but **** me, how can Diaby get a red card for holding Barton by the neck, and then pushing Nolan, and then Nolan gets NOTHING for putting Szceszny in a headlock? And the 2nd penalty was NEVER EVER in a million years a penalty.

:Phil Dowd is the greatest ref ever. It's one of the best days in everton's recent history And he played his part.
:Missed the penalty that should have been awarded and instead gave a yellow to Ramires.
Naveed:what the hell?? He should have allowed a penalty when Ramires was fouled...instead showed him yellow :|
Anon:Whatever. Ramires tripped over his own feet. All decisions were correct, even the fellaini disallowed goal. I thought he had a great game
Robbodogblue:Thought he had a good game. The penalty decision took guts and was the correct decision IMO.
Jhean michael r:well what Anelka but drogba and towers should be in possession

Duncan:Penalty - need I say more. Oh and try to book the whole team.
Carmel:out for booking the whole Leeds defence, plus penalty error
Katy:Made a number of decisions that unfairly went against Leeds although Leeds got what they deserved for a poor performance and laughable tactics and formation.
Scott:Not using it as an excuse because we were poor, but he was out to book the whole team and definitely got the penalty decision wrong, which could have changed the game. The bookings made the defence pull out of risky challenged which could have kept the score down. Stick to your own league instead of ruining games lower down.
Debbie:Whether missing the blatant penalty would have given LUFC a springboard is debatable given how the team played but we will never know. Seemed a disproportionate number of bookings made against LUFC.
marc drye:Hang dowd. Leeds and proud
Jon:Cause he was a total bellend!
bremner04:why the hell is there not an option for no stars this man is a disgrace to his ego
Danny:Awful application of Law 13. Obvious penalty decision went against Leeds United for a handball by Tate. Use of cautions was inconsistent and once again applied incorrectly (in the case of Alex Bruce). The penalty given to Swansea was outside of the penalty area - both of Dyer's feet were outside of the penalty area at the point of contact from Gradel. Phil Down adversely affected the outcome of this game and the officials got this one terribly wrong.
wayneski:A lower league ref, poor at his job.
Em:one slightly late tackle for a leeds player yellow card 5 or 6 for a swansea player then a yellow. Clear penalty shocking ref. not good enough for championship so how does he ref the prem.

Georgia:Bad bad decision when it came to Carragher - he should have been off. Otherwise was fairly competant.
J:@Georgia And I suppose Rafael's booking was harsh?
Nettie:it wasnt just the carragher thing the rafa thing aswell which 2 player couldve or shouldve been sent off who was fouled before the foul he committed..Either way its all part of the "PLAN"
Beck:Yes, Carra should of been off, but so should of Rafa.......regardless, we won!!!! ha ha
Naveed:He cudn't help it... High Profile GAme
Sam Wanjere:Tried to play fair but looked intimidated. Bad call on both Carra and Rafael. Both should have seen red. Weird free kick decisions, including awarding kicks despite the "offended" (MUFC) not appealing or holding advantage in play. Overall? C minus.
Nettie:Like i said a high boot by a pool player was done to rafa before he fouled anyone, the foul wasnt called but rafa shouldve been sent off...For What pool fans just take the damn win and stop looking for reasons to say the ref was wrong on both accounts...like if he was fair....Just FREAKING STOP THE DAMN MADNESS!!!
Nettie:I wonder if dowid will need a break from footy like clattenburg doubt it, why because this time the player that was getting off (carragher) wasnt a manutd player, its just sad to see that there is such a blunt difference..
Nettie:Im sure its mostly pool fans or dunce utd fans who made dowid have a 3 start rating on here... Whats going on with clattenburg kinda makes me feel for him just because he didnt send of a player, something that happens week and week out ...Please you guys cant act like you dont see the cheating going on, take off the hater glasses
david:as a Liverpool fan i think Carra should have gone. but so should Rafael
famous:pls this game is over folks , the ref did well cara act wasnt malicious
Nettie:Wrong david...only carragher
12 Mar 2011BirminghamvBolton
pilbo:his treatment of kevin davies was bad.He has joined the pact of refs with clattenburg. i thought he was better than that,if davies goes near a player its a foul thats part of the pact.

Ratters:No other word than bent. Surprised he even allowed our goal . Wont even be able to defend his performance as will be too busy kissing Fergies backside .
Nettie:Dowd just about get 3 stars, only the penalty made it 3. He had a few little things but nothing really major. A draw was just about a fair result, manutd were attacking as to where Blackburn got the goal and rarely attacked, they also had a few good chances but manutd were mostly going forward....Until the last 5-10mins..lol P.s: Kissing fergies backside? Whats that about? "Ratters"
john:Cant complain with the pen but every other decision went uniteds way. 2 rogers players booked for first tackle, rooney and scholes got away with everything
baigy:even though we got what we wanted hes still a crap ref and always will be
Ratters:Nettie why does he scrape to 3 stars cos of the pen . So if there was no pen incident you would have given less which much indicate a bad ref. As John said can't complain with the pen but the farce that went before it indicates poor officials . Dowd wasn't sure and linesman didn't flag even though had a clear view. Both not sure then a pen is given !!!!!. Also everything went to united with the decisions . united are by far the best team in country but refs bias towards them is spoiling football.
Nettie:I gave him 3 after the pen because he made a "RIGHT" decision which it was a big one, so a star up from 2 (which he deserved to me)... The match was'nt controversial or anything. At the same time we all have our personal views and rate the refs as we see it. Some would say I gave him 3 because we got the pt we needed to win the title and some might say u Ratters gave him 1 star because ur a Blackburn fan & u guys felt robbed or hard done by. Dowd has always been a crappy ref to me and i have yet to see him do Manutd a real favor like give a false pen, red card to the other team etc. I really do find it humorous that all the english refs are manutd fans, you would think if this were true the title would be in manutds cabinet every season come march because we get all the ref decisions ..lol I could start naming many different times refs didnt give manutd the right decisions to where they couldve won or atleast drew a game but it makes no sense because like you many many will think that manutd gets all the decisions and things they want. Oh and Manchester United Fc persuasions of the refs and fa are spoiling football..lol Thx for that Huge Accusation :O} Cheers Ratters + Haterz
Ratters:Yes he made the right decision that isn't open to debate , but he got there by ineptitude. As I said before he wasn't sure and no flag by the linesman yet a pen results . In the other box there wouldn't have even been a consultation . Maybe bias towards man u wasn't to your liking so shall we say there is 'bias' towards the big teams. We have had some shockers but Blackpool to name one team have had more.
30 May 2011ReadingvSwansea
Phil (Reading F:Lets get it straight. Phil Dowds Penalty decisions against reading were correct. but fouls and free kicks were very biased against reading. mainly 1st half. but at crucial moments he gave us nothing.
Andrew:Absolute disgrace. Cost us a place in the Prem. Fell for all of Dyer's and Sinclair dives. Failed to give Reading a much clearer pen than the ones he gave
Jason:Jacks are going up
Mike:wouldve won the game if it weren't for that twat
Damian:Best ref Swansea have ever had! Pens were spot on although was a bit biased in some free kick decisions. Could have should a double yellow for persistent fouling to khinsivilli
Steve:TV coverage, from all angles, suggests he got both the penalty calls right. Suggest, Phil and Andrew, you get out of your prams to fetch your dummies...
Jason:According to the stats Swansea only committed 4 fouls in 90 mins - if you believe that you'll believe anything
Callum:Phil Dowd's penalty decisions against us were correct. However, how many times were there fouls given in Swansea favour when it should either have been ours, or a play-on. It's ridiculous. I mean, neither of our players were sent off from the penalty challenges, and to be honest with you, they both should have been, it just shows a lack of consistency is what Phil Dowd needs to work on. He is an absolute fool, and I hate the bastard.
phillip:reading fans are bitter u lot are dirty jack army
